Licencing details and options

Also make sure to download a demo version. Once you've purchased, you will be sent via email a registration code to enter into your software to unlock the demo version and allow unlimited use.

The Site Licence option is a combination site licence and multiple user licence. It allows you to use this copy of BaseElements either in a FileMaker server amongst multiple developers, or as single user versions on an individual's machine, or both at the same time.

We suggest that you download the Single User version for use on an individual machine, and use the Sharing Enabled version on the server. But you are free to mix and match as you please. The main difference is that the Single User version doesn't have sharing enabled, so you'll be likely to get fewer "sharing not enabled" errors from FMP.

Also, a Site Licence registration is required to act as a client to a hosted copy of BaseElements. The single user licence will allow you to use the copy of BaseElements with sharing enabled, but guests can't connect to this version without the Site Licence registration code.

You can also purchase a licence to BaseElements 1.6.6 only, which doesn't include an upgrade to 2.0. Your licence will continue to be valid indefinitely, but you need to be aware that 1.6.6 won't be updated for compatability with future versions of FMP/FMPA. You can continue to use BE 1.6.6 on versions of FMP 9 and earlier without issue, and you can decide to upgrade to 2.0 at a later date.
